The mystery of Mothman, the flying man-like figure
Mothman is a mysterious winged being who was first seen in the 1960s in the United States. This clearly explains why he is named “Mothman”. He appeared shortly before the collapse of the “Silver Bridge”, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This collapse was a tragedy that claimed the lives of more than forty people.
Mothman, an apparition heralding major catastrophes
“A big dark and winged form took flight from a thicket near us and flew above us… The next day, the tragedy occurred”.
Eyewitnesses to this strange apparition interpreted this as the obvious sign that something bad would happen… Which tends to be backed up by the subsequent apparitions that always happened moments before tragedies took place.
The last apparition, which was not the least significant, occurred on the day when the twin towers of the World Trade Center collapsed in New York. Once again, many eyewitnesses reported they saw Mothman at the scene shortly before it happened.

Definite proof of Mothman’s existence
A picture was taken at that moment. Many others were taken in the previous decades but on the sad day of September 11, the shot was taken by a TV journalist reputed to be reliable!
Still, in spite of the many proofs, skeptical people said it was an owl or a crane. Others said it was an alien, a UFO or some supernatural manifestation…
So, is Mothman a legend or the truth?
One thing is sure: all the testimonials coincide. They all describe the creature in the same way: big red eyes, 6 to 9 feet (2 to 3 meters) tall, a wingspan of about 11 feet (3.5 meters) and moving faster than 90 mph (150 km/h)!
Mothman has not only been seen in the United States. It has also been spotted elsewhere:

- in Sweden,
- in Vietnam,
- in China,
- in Chile,
- in Georgia,
- and even in Chernobyl, on April 26, 1986, shortly before the accident.
Most of the pictures of Mothman have been analyzed and it turns out that, although they have never been formally authenticated, they have not been formally proven irrelevant either.
And there is also this eye problem suffered by most of those who witnessed the apparitions of Mothman: conjunctivitis that is only supposed to happen after intense exposure to ultraviolet light…
Today, I pray that no one meets Mothman, neither you nor I. Why? Because the only thing that seems indisputable and that has never been questioned is that his “apparitions” always herald tragedies. But am I not here to protect you no matter what?…
